Minoko House Concert - October 19th

A visit to the island of Minjerribah for a concert of French piano duets with my brother Alistair. It’s always a special place to visit, an enthusiastic audience and time to enjoy the surroundings make it even more special. Music by Satie, Debussy and Poulenc. Visions de l’Amen : Live Recording 1993

My brother Alistair and I gave a series of performances of Messiaen’s Visions de l’Amen for two pianos some time ago…Three of these were recorded for radio broadcast, by 4MBS Brisbane, ABC Classic FM in Canberra, and one in Newcastle. We presumed these recordings were lost but this one has surfaced, late last year, on internet radio. Visions live at the Newcastle Concert Hall in 1993. A wonderful discovery for us, as this was relatively unknown repertoire in Australia at the time, and we enjoyed it so much. Alistair is playing the Messiaen part, I’m playing the Loriod. Commences at 37 minutes into the broadcast. https://www.2nurfm.com.au/news/visions-of-the-amen/

Performance at Harrigan’s Lane

A wonderful weekend playing indoor repertoire by Satie, Debussy, and Poulenc along with a new piece for the Piano Mill. My brother Alistair and I collaborated on the piece comprising audience participation, prerecorded piano mill sounds, and live piano, percussion, and harmonium. We were blessed with a terrific audience and great weather. Magical.
