Minoko House Concert - October 19th

A visit to the island of Minjerribah for a concert of French piano duets with my brother Alistair. It’s always a special place to visit, an enthusiastic audience and time to enjoy the surroundings make it even more special. Music by Satie, Debussy and Poulenc. Performance at Harrigan’s Lane

A wonderful weekend playing indoor repertoire by Satie, Debussy, and Poulenc along with a new piece for the Piano Mill. My brother Alistair and I collaborated on the piece comprising audience participation, prerecorded piano mill sounds, and live piano, percussion, and harmonium. We were blessed with a terrific audience and great weather. Magical.

Piano Mill 2025

A huge programme at the 2025 Piano Mill...including a repeat performance of the piece my brother Alistair and I devised in 2024. This photo by Alistair during our rehearsal on Good Friday...the piece is comprised of percussion, harmonium, live piano, and pre-recorded piano sounds from the instruments inside the Mill. "The work’s interplay of tonal contrasts evoking the grinding, pounding and clack of levers created through live piano, harmonium and pre-recorded mechanical sources was vivid and cleverly set the tone for the afternoon’s listening experience. The strike of the bell from the ‘grader blade carillon’ invested the Mill with cathedral-like authority." There is a full review of the afternoon by Gillian Wills on Arts Review; https://artsreview.com.au/easter-at-the-piano-mill-made-of-wood/?fbclid=IwY2xjawKfUvRleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETFVQVVMVHkybVhzVnhHdW5QAR5llkem0HQy0SrKxnJBM8I574JSlFBapDyXTUWCDPBe5EO_CfsRu7xON42RzA_aem_fnkXFzuTBM6XJwH81L2wRQ
